Protection system designed to isolate process areas in the event of an explosion inside the dust collector. It prevents the propagation of explosion effects through the extraction ductwork, limiting damage to the aspiration system.
The B-Flap I airflow-operated isolation valve is designed as an explosion pressure-resistant device capable of preventing the transmission of hazardous explosion effects from the dust collector to upstream process areas.
The product is designed in compliance with European Directive 2014/34/EU and certified in accordance with EN 16447:2014. The B-Flap I shall only be used in pull-system configurations.
Description
The valve is welded in RAL 3000 painted carbon steel. Upon special request, it is also available in stainless steel with an unpainted surface finish.
Operation
In the event of an explosion inside the dust collector, the resulting pressure wave forces the flap valve to close and lock in position. This creates an effective protective barrier against the approaching flame front and prevents the propagation of explosion effects through the extraction ductwork and into upstream work areas.

Zone 20 inside the valve
Zone 21, Zone 22 or non-hazardous area outside the valve
