Protection system for combustible dust applications that prevents the transmission of explosion effects from the dust collector to the extraction ductwork.
The CARZ-NS explosion isolation valve is an efficient patented protection system specifically designed for combustible dust applications. This non-return valve prevents the propagation of an explosion from the dust collector to the extraction ductwork, thereby protecting personnel, the working environment and equipment.
The valve is specifically designed as an explosion pressure-resistant device and is capable of preventing the transmission of hazardous effects caused by an explosion pressure wave and flame front from the dust collector to the extraction ductwork and surrounding work areas. The use of a non-return valve helps reduce the risks associated with combustible dust explosions, providing enhanced protection for both personnel and equipment.
Operation
During normal operation of the extraction system, the valve is held open by the airflow. Its wide opening angle ensures a low pressure drop across the valve. In the event of an explosion inside the dust collector, the resulting pressure wave forces the valve flap to close and lock in position. The closed flap acts as an effective barrier against the approaching flame front, preventing the transmission of the explosion from the dust collector to upstream work areas.
Regardless of your industry or the type of dust handled in your facility, we can provide complete protection solutions against combustible dust hazards, including dedicated dust collectors and explosion isolation valves.
