Atex MEP Ex dust filters

MEP EX IMMAGINE ING
Safety and peace of mind, for dusts that pose an explosion hazard.

Depending on the product, the dust concentration, the air humidity, and the size and shape of the particles, explosion hazards can arise under various conditions. While explosions are difficult to prevent and cannot be predicted, the MEP Ex filters nevertheless allow these conditions to be controlled.

Dusts and explosion hazards

Dust explosions are extremely violent and can be triggered very quickly. While in most cases they cause severe damage to equipment requiring lengthy system repair times, they are nevertheless also capable of causing personal injury and property damage.
Dusts are divided into the risk classes St. 1, St. 2 and St. 3: the higher the class number, the more violent the explosion. NEDERMAN has developed special filters suitable for every class that can be used to control the force of the explosion, to minimize the damage, and to obtain the best possible protection against personal injury and property damage.

Minimizing the damage caused by explosions

The MEP Ex anti-explosion filters function exactly like standard filters, but are equipped with reinforced filter bodies. The filters are even equipped with bursting discs with no mechanical parts.
If the pressure inside the filter exceeds the predetermined value due to an explosion, the disc ruptures and the pressure wave is directed towards a safe area.
This allows the explosion to be controlled and the relative damage to be minimized.

Approved and certified

The MEP Ex filters are designed and manufactured according to the German VDI 3673 standard and are ATEX certified.
